We have sunshine! Finally! While you are out enjoying the lovely weather today don’t forget to order from RCM before 10 PM! Treat your pets this week with kitty licky cat treats or pup cakes for your doggy from Treat Street Pet Bakery. What’s for dinner this week? Maybe some sliced pork belly from Bluff Top, New York Strip steaks from R&D, beef short ribs from Michael’s Garden or a pork roast from Porch Swing Farms will fill your belly! We have several flavors of delicious sausage both beef and pork; it’s not just for breakfast! Wax melts or candles from Drewry can have your home smelling like spring or create a relaxing atmosphere; their clean-burning candles are sure to come in a scent that you will love! The Fortunate Mushroom has fresh mushrooms available, as well as kits to grow your own. I can think of lots of recipes that call for mushrooms! Those mushrooms would probably be great with some pasta from Wild Hare Nursery! They also offer gluten-free options! B&B Legacy soybeans are a healthy and versatile source of protein; don’t overlook them! Drewry’s apples are fresh, crisp and delicious for cooking or eating! Spice up your dishes with pickled jalapenos from Michael’s Garden or send a friend a sweet gift with a mug and hot chocolate mix from Kourtney’s Country Canning and More. Plenty of eggs are available; you can even choose goose, duck or chicken! Feel like cookies and milk? Bluff Top has fresh goat milk and there is a cookie flavor for everyone! Filled, decorated, vegan, or gluten-free, everyone is sure to find a choice that they love! Connor’s chocolate chip cookies are a tasty deal and Pleasant View’s old-fashioned gingersnaps may bring back memories with their flavor. Cecelia and Otis has vegan and dairy-free cookies that taste amazing, Maple Brook has applesauce cookies and Kaitlyn’s Sweet and Treats has custom decorated cookies or some delicious filled cookies! Check out Isn’t She Sweet’s Polynesian bread for a tropical fruity flavor or choose your favorite sourdough or sandwich bread from our wonderful bakers! A crusty sourdough baguette from Victoria’s Little Bread House sounds yummy paired with some soup! What great local foods will you find this week?

Growers News:
Welcome a New Grower to the Market:
Backyard Tailz: We creat fresh seed and suet products for backyard birds. Today we’ve started with several of our items: find items in Gardens & Yards Catagory.*
Giant Cupcake Seed Cylinder with Hanging Basket, Bird Seed Cylinder – Just Nuts no Waste, Just Berry Fruit, Woodpecker Snack, Bird Seed Wreath – Just Nuts No Waste, Nut Berry Fruit, Woodpecker Snack, Suet Balls – Blueberry Sunflower, Cayenne, Cranberry Sunflower, P-Nutty and Nice, Blueberry Sunflower, Cayenne, Cranberry Sunflower and P-Nutty and Nice.
M&S Farms: Bringing Families back to the supper table! Our little family farms was created to provide a healthy alternative to buying protein for your family. We have a small herd of Angus cattle. We feed a high quality grain based feed and we do vaccinate our livestock to protect against infection and disease. We believe that the animals health is just as important as our own health. We do breed our cattle right here on our little farm. All of them are gentle with the minimum amount of stress. This ensures a better quality of product then you’ll ever get from a grocery store.
Quarter Spring Farm: Do you want to know a great way to warm up in this frigid weather? Eat some farm fresh meat from Quarter Spring Farm. Our pasture raised chicken and grass fed lamb are a great way to pack in some extra calories on these cold days and nights. And you know our meats are great for you, with no antibiotics or growth hormones. Our all natural goat milk soaps and lotions are a great way to protect your skin when the thermometer dips so low. Try one of our amazing scents today to see for yourself why goats milk soap gets such great reviews.
Safe and Sound Soap Company: Grab some of my moisturizing hand sanitizer this week! It’s perfect for this cold weather to help keep your skin moist while warding off those nasty germs. I also added a NEW PRODUCT!!! My Detox Bath Bombs have been added to the site, you can buy one to try or a pack of four! They are made with bentonite clay and a special blend of essential oils made to help support and detox your liver. Throw one (or two) in your bath and enjoy a nice soak!
Calico Farms: Trying to increase your protein intake this year? Go nuts! Be sure to check out our spicy herbed mixed nuts & sweet & spicy pecans – a mouth watering snack straight out of the resealable bag, thrown in chicken salad, or topping your favorite mixed greens.
When it’s this cold outside…it’s definitely tea time. Check out our organic house-blended teas (all delicious hot or iced!): Peppermint hibiscus, Bed time, Immune support & Summertime fruits. We also have in-mug tea steepers to go along with these loose teas to get more bang for your buck than the ball-style steepers because they allow the tea leaves to completely open up, meaning you can use less tea per brew!
If you’re looking to pamper yourself or someone else this this Valentine’s Day, consider our wellness products like our herbal bath tea & shower steamers. They are the perfect way to add aromatherapy to your daily routine.
Carole’s Herbs (CS3 Farms): Welcome to the post subarctic blast. I am writing this email before our hilly sheet of ice road has melted having faith the much warmer temps will melt the shady spots by Wednesday. We have freshly made elderberry syrup and plenty of elderberry spilanthes tincture to fight the colds. We use the tincture daily to keep any viruses at bay. They come in 4oz and 2oz sizes.
Pink’s Micros:
This is our WINTER microgren blend! Every season we create new blends to represent the time of year. OUR WINTER blend has ’YELLOW BEETS, RED PAC CHOI, IGLOO CAULIFLOWER and CURLY WATERCRESS.
What better way to start the New Year than with highly nutritional greens called Mirogreens? They pack 40 to 100% more vital nutrients than the adult verion. We grow organically with NON-GMO seeds and nutrient-dense soil. We look forward to providing the best for you in 2024.
NashPhilly: Be sure to stock up with your favorites, I will be off the Market February 11th and 12th that is Valentine week! Find our Items in Noodles, Pasta & Italian Sauses, Season Side Dishes and in the Soup Section:
Soup season is here and I added a new soup, a hearty Manhattan clam chowder. Filled with juicy clams and tomatoes, chunky potatoes and carrots. Sure to warm you right up!
Some more hearty and warm dishes are my green bean casserole. And I am now making chicken rosemary pot pie. The casserole is sure to be a delightful side to any dish. I make my own cream of mushroom soup for this and finish it with Parmigiano cheese. The pot pie is what you would be expecting loaded with peas, carrots, potato with the added flavor of rosemary. Puff pastry is laid on top and acts as the pie crust.
Finally if you haven’t had a Philly cheese steaks in a while. Try one of mine! 100% 1/2 pound of rib eye meat, delicious homemade cheese wiz sauce, sautéed onions, red bell peppers, and mushrooms. Sure to be one of the best sandwiches you have ever had!

Technology has changed our lives in amazing ways. Do you remember what it was like to work in an office where the most sophisticated machine was an IBM Selectric III typewriter? There were no desktop computers, laptops, tablets, all-in-one scanners/printers/faxers. No FedEx. To copy documents, you had to go to a place like Kwik Kopy.
We are accustomed to technology making our lives much easier. We can do so many tasks instantly. Look for the perfect recipe? Three clicks of research and we have it! Need to place a Sam’s order for delivery? No problem, click away and hit “enter”. We take technology for granted – until something happens and we have no internet.
I do not know what happened with our weblog last weekend. I sent it out in the same manner at the same time I usually do, but some customers did not receive a notification. I have no idea why. I chalk it up to gremlins in the system somewhere.
Anyway, you do not have to wait to receive the weblog to be able to order. As long as the system is “on” for ordering, you can type in “The Wednesday Market Zebulon GA” in the search bar of your favorite web browser. We are the top result: The Wednesday Market – LocallyGrown.net. Click on it, and you will arrive at our home page. From there click “The Market” and you will see the ordering page.
If the above sounds too complex for you to follow, just pull up a previous week’s blog in your email and click the link in that blog to access the ordering page.
So, I hope this blog makes it out to all of you in Wednesday Market land. Despite the stormy weather, I hope you have a great weekend. Thank you for supporting Georgia Grown. We’ll see you at the Market.
Thanks,
Beverly
P.S. If you have questions about your order or if you need to contact us, please start with Nelda, as she is our primary market manager. I (Beverly) am also available, but I may not reply immediately. You may contact us by text, email, or phone call.

Champaign, OH: Friday Ordering
Now that she’s back from that soul vacation
Tracing her way through the constellation…
(Drops Of Jupiter-Train)
I am back from my soul vacation, chilly beach walks, communing with the ocean, taking it all in…now, I am back, and I am looking at a bare pantry, bare fridge, and sad looking cabinets…
But, no problem, because on this early Friday morning, I am placing my market order for all the good things that the market has to offer!! Are you doing the same? The Friday Ordering?
I love that I can enter the weekend knowing that my market order is placed, and will be waiting for me on Thursday…
“Now that she’s back in the atmosphere
With drops of Jupiter in her hair
She acts like summer and walks like rain”
(Go ahead…you know you want to flip this song on, and turn it up…) Perfect for listening while placing those orders…
XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

I believe a comparison of local products with large grocery stores will show that our prices are quite comparable! Plus, if you shop RCM you get very fresh food with a local story! We love providing a platform for the amazing local makers and producers and helping them spread the word about local foods! Get baked goods without preservatives, meats without dyes and additives and eggs fresh from the farm! Our vendors make jams and jellies with fruits that are in season and harvest vegetables sometimes just a couple of hours before they are delivered to you! The improving weather should be good for helping the growing things recover from the cold… so, hopefully, more fresh produce will be returning soon! In the meantime, fill your freezer with local meats, stock up on fresh eggs, sample the huge variety of baked goods and try a new flavor of jam or jelly! Maple Brook Bakery will be doing a pop-up during order pick-up at this week’s market; be sure you sample some of her goodies! Isn’t She Sweet has a new Polynesian bread this week and it’s not too early to be thinking about Valentine’s Day! Check out the selection of candy and gifts! Thank you for shopping local!
