*FAYETTEVILLE DELIVERY SERVICE UPDATE FOR 2024. *

Our nonprofit partner Seeds that Feed has been graciously delivering online market orders to Fayetteville addresses. However, their funds for this service have run out. Therefore we have added delivery service item, to help their volunteers cover the expenses of delivery.

Delivery will still be FREE for the following customers:
—senior and SNAP customers
—customers who are not able to drive to pickup location
—customers who already donate each time they receive a delivery

If you are a customer in the above categories, please put “Free Delivery” in the comments as you finish ordering.

If you request delivery and you are not in the above categories, please choose delivery service as one of your items when you order. You can find this item under Delivery and the cost will be no more than $7 for each delivery date. This service will be charged to your order. We will make sure that Seeds that Feed receives all of those fees.

STUFF YOU ALREADY KNOW IF YOU HAVE ORDERED BEFORE:

SEARCHING TIP: On large categories such as baked goods or meats click on the category to get a drop down of specific items in that category.

HOW TO CHECK ITEMS FROM A PARTICULAR SELLER? Scroll down on left side until you see “show specific growers”. If all the boxes are checked, you can click on “reverse all” then click the boxes on or off of those sellers you want to see. Then click “show specific growers” again.

BUYING TIP: If you see items that you want but not much available, order and pay and then log back in and continue shopping. Your orders will be combined and you will only be charged once.

1) Sellers sometimes add more products later in the ordering period, so be sure to check back. The product list changes each week, even from the same seller, so it’s worth exploring the categories you are interested in.

Foothills Market:  The Market is Open!

As I write this message, we have at least an inch of snow on the farm with more falling. No doubt about it – the growers for Foothills Market have a challenging week ahead. We’ll face a struggle to keep plants alive and animals fed, watered and as warm as possible.

Offerings on the market will be limited this week, so if you want some fresh produce, you’ll probably need to order quickly. Also be aware that, depending on what happens with the weather, a grower may have to cancel some items. We really appreciate your understanding!

Our offerings of beef and sweet spreads, of course, are not affected by the weather! Shop between now and Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. Weather permitting, we’ll have your orders ready for pickup on Thursday afternoon (if conditions make it so we can’t have market pickup on Thursday, we will contact you for other arrangements).

Stay warm!

Russellville Community Market:  1/14/24 closing

To ensure your order is placed, make sure you click the “Place My Order” button once you have completed your shopping. You will receive a confirmation email.

Be sure to check out our amazing extras table when you pick up your order from 4-7 PM on Tuesday!

The weather is less than ideal this week, but it’s a great time to stock up on local groceries! Fill your freezer with tasty beef from R&D, C3Beef or Michael’s Garden and fantastic heritage breed pork from Porch Swing Farms! R&D has fajita meat for a great family meal, Michael’s Garden has short ribs on sale, a C3Beef value pack is a deal and a Porch Swing Farms pork roast sounds like a great idea for a chilly day! Besides the selection of amazing breakfast sausage from our vendors, R&D has chorizo and Porch Swing Farms has a spicy Italian sausage if you are looking for something to warm you up! Our talented bakers have a huge selection of bread and baked treats! Have you tried Cecelia and Otis’ tasty scones? Maple Brook, our newest baker has some yummy looking applesauce cookies, Kaitlyn’s Sweets and Treats brownie bites can satisfy your chocolate craving and Isn’t She Sweet’s strawberry bread or cinnamon rolls sound like a treat that’s great for breakfast or dessert! We are glad to have Pleasant View back from a break; if you have been missing her English muffins or artisan bread, they are available for you this week! Victoria’s Little Bread House has introduced a chocolate sourdough sweet roll and a sourdough baguette this week; both sound tasty! Stay warm with some Retro Roasts coffee, plan an amazing meal with some handcrafted pasta from Wild Hare Nursery, and make sure to get some jams and jellies or Rural Route honey to go with those baked goods! Lucky Star has a white peach jam and Kourtney’s Country Canning and More has a lovely beautyberry jelly and some homemade marshmallows for your hot chocolate! There are still fresh mushrooms available; get them while they are ready and add taste and nutrition to your recipes! A winter squash box from Drewry is a great deal on a supply of winter squashes for you to sample and their apples are crisp and refreshing in a season where fresh produce is not as plentiful! It is definitely a tough week for vegetables but there are still collards and mustard available and more to come as soon as the weather is nicer! Stay warm this afternoon and shop online! Remember to tell your friends about the great local goods you get from RCM’s vendors!
Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram!

REMINDER- We can no longer accept credit or debit cards. We will still be able to process cash, checks and SNAP/EBT transactions.

Middle Tennessee Locally Grown:  The Market Is Open for Ordering

Middle Tennessee Locally Grown market

will be open for your orders till Tuesday evening at 10 pm.

The Wednesday Market:  The Market is Open

Good afternoon.

The Wednesday Market is open for orders. Please place your order by 10 p.m. Monday. Orders are ready for pick up between 2 and 4 p.m. Wednesday. See the website for this week’s product offerings. Here is the link: https://wednesdaymarket.locallygrown.net/market

My family is spending the weekend preparing for the frigid weather that is expected to arrive early next week. The houseplants which have been happy so far to live on the front porch are migrating inside. We are also trying to weatherproof some of the plumbing. We’ve lived in this 1890 home for nearly 26 years. In all of that time, only two or three times our pipes have frozen. One of those instances was in December 2021 when the temperature dropped to 9 degrees. Fortunately, the frozen pipe was in a downstairs bathroom and did not burst. It just took all day to thaw, which was a minor inconvenience. Nevertheless, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

May you all have a good weekend, and we’ll see you at the Market. Thank you for supporting Georgia Grown.

Thanks,

Beverly

P.S. If you have questions about your order or if you need to contact us, please start with Nelda, as she is our primary market manager. I (Beverly) am also available, but I may not reply immediately. You may contact us by text, email, or phone call.

Martin's Farmstand:  Hickory firewood

The farmstand is open today from noon till 5 pm. Our winter schedule has us opening every Saturday afternoon. In the spring once the asparagus harvest starts summer hours will resume.
We have an abundance of firewood for sale. There was a significant amount of hickory trees mixed into our sugar bush that were crowding the maples and also supporting a large population of red squirrels (which chew holes in tubing). Over the last few weeks we thinned them out. I have a large pile of hickory firewood that I plan to be cutting, splitting and hauling in the early spring. I am asking $70 cord for close delivery and $60 if you pick-up. I am taking orders now. I also have 25 cords of dry firewood that is stacked under- roof that is extra. This sells for $90 cord (u pick up). Daniel
