Lathemtown Farm Fresh Market:  This Week at the Market

Summer heat has already taken a toll on the garden. I am watering every day, but some of the plants are still getting stressed. Squash bugs have taken advantage of that so we are slowed down on summer squash for now until I replant. Pray for rain!!!
Tomatoes are beginning to ripen! I have cherry types and smaller plum and others coming in so those will go into the stand as they are picked.
As some of you know, my daughter runs the sourdough side of the market as Brown Bakehouse. My grandson was born with a condition that would require surgery and that time has come upon us. Baby Bo will go in for the procedure in July and will require some time in the hospital and recovery at home. We don’t know exactly what the care requirements will be yet, so this week will be the last until probably the end of July for sourdough orders.
I will also be taking a vacation next week so there will be no market July 1st- 7th. The farm stand will still be running with the help of my son and a garden helper.
Have a great week! And thank you for supporting our famr business!

Connie's Cornucopia:  Back In Stock

We will be picking up more Rock House products this Saturday. This means we will have in stock the following: Calyroad Chevre* cheese spread made from fresh goats’ milk*. We also will be picking up Cows Milk (that is Lightly pasteurized 145 degrees Fahrenheit and has not been homogenized*), this is the next best thing to raw milk. Also we will be picking up Beef patties (8 oz.) 2-pack which like all of our animal products are Pastured Raised (they went fast last time we had in stock).

We also will be picking up on Saturday: Blueberries, Squash Summer, Peppers Mojo, Jalapenos Peppers, and Okra. Get your orders in now so you make sure you get what you want, and you can pick up or we can deliver you your produce as soon as their picked. Our produce is on the plant until it is ready to eat (unlike others that are picked before it is ready and ripen somewhere else).

Please do your preserving now (canning or freezing), so when they are out of season you can continue to have the wonderful tasting produce.

Get your Microgreens also* fresh* or dried so you can add them to any part of your meal. Add it like you do when you add your seasonings to your meal.

I will also be going to Ellijay Mushrooms next week so please if you want any fresh mushrooms. Please put your order in by Monday of next week.

Elderberry, Bee Pollen, Honey and Maple Syrup are things that are great for your body in many ways.

Thanks
Connie

Champaign, OH:  Fourth Of July Market Note!!

I should have included this in my earlier weblog, but, next week is the July 4 holiday, which lands on Thursday!!

There will be NO MARKET, next week, so that everyone can have a bit of time off!

So, that means, you will need to get all that you may need, this week, so keep that in mind!!!

I guess I’ve been grooving along in my June cocoon, totally oblivious to how quickly July was approaching!!

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Champaign, OH:  Hello, Monday Vibes....

Jennifer Juniper, rides a dappled mare
Jennifer Juniper, lilacs in her hair…

Happy Monday, lovely market customers!

I hope you had an enjoyable weekend even though it was a hot one!! I ventured to Columbus for Picnic With The Pops, Saturday evening, and it actually had a nice breeze, and super pleasant as the sun had already dropped below the buildings by the time the music started.

This summer, I’ve vowed to take it a bit easy, allowing myself to be kind to my face, and let those very last stages of healing take place.

So, and, I am doing a social media cleanse…good for the soul!

In turn, I am enjoying a calm summer with music, books, and going where the wind blows. Quite nice. I’ve put catering on hold until the end of August, but still baking for this market!!

Baking just brings me calmness, and allows my creativity to come out. So, thank you, for you continued love of Cosmic Charlie!

Today’s song implant is courtesy of a book I am reading. So, this song has been swirling around in my head, and thought it would make for a great light tune to kick off the week.

Now, the market!! We have raspberries for maybe this last round so take advantage!! They are sooooo good!!!

And, zucchini has made an appearance!!! So good from JC Growers!! I love making ribbons of it, and then skewering for easy grilling!!

Speaking of summer grilling…the market has so many options from the amazing vendors!!!

Let’s get to ordering all of the fun! You have until 8am, tomorrow, to take advantage!!

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Have a song filled day…

Foothills Market:  The Market is Open!

There’s a lot going on with Foothills Market these days! Last week we moved to a new location in the lobby of the Prestonrose Mercantile on Main Street. We also have four new growers who have joined the market – Cattle and Chaos Family Farm and Little Piney Farm and Apiary, both of which have naturally-grown meats, including chicken – a first for our market! Also joining us on the market are Germans Pantry-Farm, with fresh produce and home-baked bread, and Prestonrose, with a selection of bagels and cream cheeses.

Browse the market between now and Wednesday at 5 p.m. We’ll be set up in the lobby of the Mercantile with your orders for pickup between 4:30-5:30 Thursday afternoon.

Also, here’s a heads-up for next week – since pickup day falls on the July 4th holiday, we’ll have a shorter ordering window next week and pickup a day earlier than usual.

Eat something fresh – and check out our new growers – this week!
