Welcome our newest Grower, “Safe and Sound Soap”: We want to offer people more natural options for cleaning supplies, body products, and beauty products. Everything I sell is homemade with essential oils.
Sow’s Ear Piggery: We just picked up a new pork order from the butcher. This pork was finished on acorns, and the samples we’ve tried have a rich flavor and light marbling in the cuts. Restocking this week: ground pork, breakfast sausage, and chops. More to come soon, including pork roasts for Christmas and New Years.
Oakview Farm: We have a variety of fresh, tasty food this week: Chess pie, peppermint patties, radishes, and scallions! We also have our sourdough bread, focaccia, and new sourdough garlic bites! And, our high tunnel is busting out with greens, so we are bringing the greens to you in our Salad Greens Mix! It has a beautiful lettuce blend as well as mustard, turnips, arugula, collards, and kale!
Yentz Family Farm:
Love our jarred items and snacks? Share them with your loved ones for the holidays. Our goodies make great Christmas gifts and can be ordered alone or in a gift basket. Check out our new listings including our holiday candy options!
Did you know that our pies and baked goods can be frozen until Christmas or New Years? Our Apple and Mixed Berry Crumb Pies Freeze great, as do our rolls and breads. I do not recommend freezing the pumpkin pie though.
Simple plastic wrap or ziplock bag and place in the freezer for up to 3 months. When you are ready to use them simply defrost in the fridge the day prior.
Carol’s Herbs (CS3 Farms):
We are back on the market from a wonderful anniversary break. 32 years and the good Lord keeps our marriage strong.
This week we have a few elderberry cream cheese pies ready. They are a great addition to holiday parties. They come to you frozen and you can take it out of the freezer an hour before serving.
We also have a few elderberry syrups left and lots of all in one honeys to help prevent or limit cold and flu. Stock up. They last the whole season.
Don ‘t forget about our nut varieties – they are perfect for gifting being 10 oz & in resealable bags. Be sure to grab them for all your holiday events to fill those snack bowls, charcuterie/grazing boards or even road trips. Our sweet & spicy pecans and herbed & spicy mixed nuts are unlike anything you’ve ever had and our cinnamon sugared pecans are WAY better than Buc-ees!
For all your holiday baking, or for the baker/foodie in your life, be sure to check out our homemade vanilla extract & organic vanilla sugar. Together they make magic and a truly unique gift, we’ll call it a baker’s bundle.
Also new this week is our organic chocolate dipped Norwegian krumkaker cookies. These are an old-world Nordic tradition and are as beautiful as they are delicious. Available plain as well, both can be enjoyed as is, filled with whipped cream & chocolate chips or berries…your choice!
Finally, check out our espresso & regular peppermint barks, organic chocolate syrup (I promise you this is our new favorite product!!!), house blended teas, shower steamers & bath sachets (listed in wellness section). I think we can all agree that we can use some of these treats in our lives this time of year.
Quarter Spring Farm: Not sure what to get for everyone on your list this year? Everybody uses soap. Or at least they ought to. And Quarter Spring Farm has a wide selection of superb skin-softening soaps available on the Stones River market. All of them are made with our fresh goat milk, which is great for your skin. And the scents are unique and delightful. We also have a full selection of pastured poultry, grown and processed on the farm. It tastes better than conventional chicken, and is better for you too. In addition, we just received 2 lambs back from our USDA inspected processor. We are fully stocked with all of your favorite cuts, roasts, and ground lamb. Order some today and find out why home grown is so much better.
Flying S Farms: All of our Wheat and Plain sourdough is available this week whole or sliced, full size or half. Several varieties of Friendship Bread, will add a new flavor- Red Velvet, perfect for upcoming gifts or parties, they will make wonderful gifts. Experience all our Friendship Breads lightly toasted, great treat. Our chicken eggs are also available.
Pinky’s Micros: Microgreens pack 40X more vital nutrients than their mature counterparts. Extremely dense in vital enzymes, minerals, vitamins, omega and high does of chlorophyll. There aren’t many foods you could eat that are packed of nutrients and harvested a day before delivery for freshness. Put them on your sandwich, top your salads, or use them in place of lettuce.
We love putting them on avocado toast, salads, wraps, B.L.T. Sandwich and more!

WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD
While this is NOT a Christmas song for sure, after a chance encounter recently with someone of a darker belief structure I realized that the Christmas message is about bringing HOPE to a broken world. This person openly had no hope, only fear, and after meeting him/her Louis Armstrongs rich voice brought this song to mind.
I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and for you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
I see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright blessed day
The dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow
So pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
Of people going by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, “How do you do?”
They’re really saying
“I love you”
I hear babies cry
I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more
Than I’ll ever know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Ooh yeah
To borrow from “Oh Holy Night”, this is a very weary world. So very many of us are weary of the increasing darkness that threatens to overtake. BUT, the HOPE brought by the Christ Child reminds us that it wasn’t always this way nor was it ever meant to be. And someday it won’t be. The LIGHT of the World still shines bright and His invitation is still “Come Unto Me.”
Due to the busyness of this time of year we encourage you to order EARLY to get items of limited quantity currently listed. Items and quantities may be added over the next couple of days so be sure to check back before closing on Tuesday (5pm) in case there’s something else available that would be a blessing to you and yours.
THANK YOU for allowing us to be part of your life this year. We count it a privilege to serve you and look forward to serving you in 2024. May you and yours have the most blessed Christmas and New Years season ever!

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!

Martin's Farmstand: Future Plans
The farmstand is open today from noon till 5 pm. December hours till Christmas, open Friday and Saturday afternoons. After New year till spring open Saturdays only. We have local eggs available again. In the winter if it is cold the front doors will be closed even when we are open and the produce will be displayed in the display cooler, bulk food room and in the basement. Come in even if the outer stand looks desolate as there is lots of good eating hiding inside. As many of you know my wife and I are hoping to retire from the market sometime in the near future. We have the farmstand up for sale. In the meantime I am ordering seed, supplies etc and getting the farm ready to grow during the 2024 season as I normally do. Unless someone takes over soon I intend to plant our normal mix of crops, each in there season, for the 2024 year. Daniel
