Yentz family Farm: Hope you had an awesome Thanksgiving. I’d like to highlight the following items:

Organic Raw Vanilla Sugar
Our Organic Raw Vanilla Sugar is the perfect way to infuse scrumptious vanilla flavor into all of your baking or beverages – coffee, tea etc.

We take organic raw cane sugar, scrape out the vanilla bean paste, blend it into the sugar then add the emptied pods to infuse the sugar for a minimum of 2 weeks. Once ready, we remove the pods & jar for you.

We use organic Madagascar vanilla beans & it’s available in 8 oz or 16 oz jars. Anything you bake will be better with this sugar. Pair with our homemade vanilla extract (sold separately) for the ultimate dynamic duo!

Organic Norwegian Krumkake
Traditional Norwegian krumkake waffle-style cookies made with our grandma’s recipe. She was born in Norway & these were always in her cookie jars, just like it should be at grandma’s house. Ours are all organic (because that’s how we roll), sold in a 6-pack where you can enjoy them plain, fill with whipped cream or dip the open end in chocolate…or both! Ingredients: farm-fresh eggs, heritage white flour, vanilla raw cane sugar, grass-fed butter, our homemade vanilla extract. You can find our homemade vanilla extract here under baking supplies!

Carol’s Herbs (CS3 Farms): Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. Thank you for supporting your local farmers and artisans. We will be off the market for a couple of weeks celebrating our 32nd anniversary. See you all soon.
CS3 Farms

Pinky’s Micros: Microgreens pack 40X more vital nutrients than their mature counterparts. Extremely dense in vital enzymes, minerals, vitamins, omega and high does of chlorophyll. There aren’t many foods you could eat that are packed of nutrients and harvested a day before delivery for freshness. Put them on your sandwich, top your salads, or use them in place of lettuce.
We love putting them on avocado toast, salads, wraps, B.L.T. Sandwich and more!
Our Fall Seasonal Chef’s Blend: Pink Lipstick Chard, Rutabaga, Purple Kohlrabi, Nasturtium Leaves as well as what we grow all the time. Peas Shoots, Rose Radish, Broccoli, Basic Salad Mix and Sunflower Shoots.

Periwinkle and Pine Co: beautiful holiday wreaths and wreath for any occasion.

Flying S Farms: Our fresh produce has ended for the season but we will have Free Range Chicken Eggs (when they feel like it!) Now that we have a little time, Jam making will increase for now we have, Concord Low Sugar Jelly from our vines on our farm! Seriously HOT Strawberry is back in stock! Delicious over Cream Cheese, or topping
Cowboy Candy (Spicy Jalapenos) Watch for more jam to be add over the next few weeks. Our Sour Dough Breads available sliced or unsliced in a loaf or assorted pan size rolls. Varieties of Friendship Breads (its like a pound cake in a loaf pan with numberous flavors) Whole or Half Sliced available.

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!

PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m.

If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION after you finish the checkout process, then your order is NOT complete. Head back to the market page, and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email.

Once you place an order, be on the lookout for the order reminder email on Wednesday with further pickup and payment notes. Thanks for your support!

Champaign, OH:  Thanksgiving Treat

Arlo Guthrie
This song is called Alice’s Restaurant
It’s about Alice
And a restaurant
But Alice’s Restaurant is not the name of the restaurant
That’s just the name of the song
And that’s why I call the song Alice’s Restaurant
You can get anything you want at Alice’s Restaurant
You can get anything you want at Alice’s Restaurant
Walk right in it’s around the back
Just a half a mile from the railroad track
And you can get anything you want at Alice’s Restaurant
Now it all started two Thanksgivings ago
Was on two years ago on Thanksgiving
When my friend and I went up to visit Alice at the restaurant
But, Alice doesn’t live in the restaurant
She lives in the church nearby the restaurant in the bell tower
With her husband Ray, and Fasha the dog…
(Alice’s Restaurant-Arlo Guthrie)

One of my oldest Thanksgiving traditions is to watch this on Thanksgiving eve, while listening to it, tomorrow, at noon, before family and guests arrive.

As a treat to our market customers, I am opening the market a day early, for your ordering pleasure.

I know it’s going to be crazy days, from here on out, and this little local market is here for all that you may need!

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Happy Thanksgiving!

Old99Farm Market:  Old 99 Farm, week of Nov 20 2023

reminder to all fav and loyal supporters of local food, we’re here! Lots of choice veggies still growing.

It’s early Wed morning, midnite actually and I’ve been attending the Canadian Organic Alliance’s conference in Ottawa. I’m very positive about their plans for actively lobbying the feds to make Organic more visible and relevant to consumers, urban and rural alike. Organic methods of producing food have tangible benefits for soil health, air and water quality, and of course human nutrition. You’ll hear more in the weeks ahead.

Lots of variety this week, with new plantings of lettuce, chard, brassicas, etc. We still have assorted tomatoes, esp yellow cherry toms and peppers. Our tree fruit varieties of Asian pears and apples are still available.

The subscription plan “Let Me Be Your Farmer” is up and running. A friend asked me to clarify. You estimate what your family would buy in a 3 month period, total for fruit, veg, meat, dairy. You estimate how much of that you could commit to buying here at Old 99. Say half. So if your family buys $3000 in a quarter, half of that is $1500. Pay in advance for 3 months purchases of veg, fruit, eggs, meats and anything you buy from Old99, and get 10% discount plus special surprises. Still order a la carte. The farm benefits from a more secure customer commitment and has cashflow to buy inputs like seed and nutrient. You get the choicest items for your basket, a la carte. Typically I’d expect $1500 to $2000 per quarter. Or just pick a value to pay forward, and we deduct actual purchases from your subscription.
Sign up with an email to me. old99farm2015@gmail.com

The winter Harvest Basket cycle starts next week: sign up for 10 weeks for $320 for 8 vegetables and a dozen eggs.

What we have now: arugula, sweet potato, brocoli, celeriac, frilly kale, Nero kale, Rainbow chard, Tokyo Bekana (a succulent chinese cabbage), beets, bell peppers, sweet bulb onions, fennel, garlic, baby lettuce mix, mizuna greens, buttercrunch lettuce, potatoes, rhubarb, carrots, collards, cabbage collards, leeks, basil and herbs. And a few figs! We have some farm pressed apple cider, not alco, from our cider day a couple weeks ago. Adam is firing up his freeze-drier unit to prepare freeze-dried tomatoes.

Surf to the online store here to place your order. Store pick up Thurs 4 to 6 or by arrangement. *

Healthy eating,
Ian, Cami and Adam
